John 20:31 But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name.
The gospel of John is the Holy Spirit’s gospel tract. It is written that a person might believe that Jesus is the Christ and that in believing they would have life though His name. God has chosen that we would share the gospel “through the foolishness of preaching.” There are times when you don’t have the opportunity to share an entire gospel presentation. You may only have a few seconds to see or talk to a person. One good way to share with them is to give them a tract that contains the gospel. There are many tracts that have been written with a clear gospel presentation, but the easiest tract to share is one that contains your own testimony.
When you encounter a person to whom you would like to share the message of Christ, you can ask them, “Would you take a few moment and read this? I wrote it. It is about something that happened to me that changed my life. This is the most important thing that I have ever done!” Few would not receive something that you wrote. If they reject what you wrote, they are rejecting you. (People reject the Word of God and in so doing, they reject God Himself.) It is not easy to reject someone that you know as a co-worker or as a friend. They may not read the entire tract, but they will look at it with some curiosity.
If you begin your tract with something interesting that happened to you, they may read far enough to see how God was at work in your life. It may parallel how God is working in their life. We know that the grace of God that bringeth salvation has appeared to all men (Titus 2:11). We also know that the Holy Spirit will reprove the entire world of sin, righteousness, and judgment (John 16:8). God can use your testimony along with the Holy Spirit’s reproof and the need for God’s grace to point men to Christ.
In writing a tract,
1. Make sure it is short
2. Have a colorful interesting cover.
3. Share what God has done in your life.
4. Use Bible verses to explain what was taking place when you accepted Christ.
5. Copy it and have it with you in case you meet someone that needs the message of the gospel.
